White Death part 1

There was an unpleasant metallic flavour burning in the back of his throat. Everything was going well; he was approximately done when it happened.

That metallic feeling burned with sharp undertones in his mouth and throat. The room was spinning and his stomach was churning. He leaned forward, one hand on his knee for support, the other clutching his abdomen. The feeling slowly became less intense, and he stood upright again. His stomach clenched, and a familiar feeling of nausea and pain overwhelmed him, he hiccupped, and his mouth was suddenly filled with a smooth, revolting substance. His first reaction was to spit it out, and he did. The blood expelled from his mouth and dripped warm and smooth down his chin. He was dizzy, in pain, and terrified.

And just like that... The whiteness are stained by crimson red once more.

Chapter 1

It was cold... And white.

The main room was right on the second floor. It walls were painted all in white, and there weren’t too many furniture, but all existed were white. The bed was king-sized, with a transparent white canopy that brought the fairy-tail feelings. Next to the bed was French windows that headed to the balcony. There, the two chairs at the balcony was white, placed on the floor that is covered by white fluffy carpet and faced the pure and cold garden. The car was parked just in front of the tree that stood magnificently across the main room. It was a nice white convertible, but it was simply just too cold to drive around.

We really love white, right, princess?

That was the eccentric part of us that brought us together for the first time, the one special connection that bound us tightly. Even when others said that we were too much on it, we still ended up painting our new cottage fully white. We even have the roof white as well.

Our kitchenware were also white. Staring from small things like plates, forks, spoons and knives until fridge, freezer, grill boiler, oven, oven gloves, cafetiere, kettle, and even toaster, all in white. We even need to travel twelve miles from home just to buy the white coffee machine.

We were so close that friendship could not handle it any longer. Without people needing to tell us to go to the next level of our relationship, we married.

I proposed to her in the middle of the snowdrop flowers garden. It was the first day of winter and exactly the 100th day of our friendship. I realized how fast we were progressing, but I couldn’t only depend on such a fragile friendship.

She was no more than an ordinary girl I met when we were on the third year of senior high school. It was not a special event to remember, but from the first time I saw her with her white thin windbreaker and earphones, I know she was different.

But she was too perfect, I know she would leave me.

"If you're a girl, who will you choose as a boyfriend from your team?" A low, cheerful voice from the MC boomed throughout the hall.

But I am a girl. Reo let a smirk slipped from her mouth and answered casually. "I'll probably choose Leon."

The crowds cheered crazily, and Reo could only put her fake smile; a smile that could be consider too good for a fake. She always got a little nervous when she was put into the occasions where she must pick out someone for some reason among the team members. She believed that she had to be always fair on all members as a profesional, and the favoritism was the furthest thing from the requirement for a profesional.

"Why is it, Reo?" The MC asked again.

Because he is my husband. "Because he's fun to talk to," Again, she answered calmly, never let any nervousness that clearly starting to tickle her face, especially when she saw a happy smile graced Leon's lips.

"Then I'll choose Reo," Leon's eyes turn into crescent, so heavenly.

"You can be my girl," Reo put on a smiling face but sarcastic atmosphere toward the boy, and she knew very well that Leon caught that.

"Oh, you're not that tall to become a man in the relationship," Leon replied in the same sarcastic tone, followed by the audience's laughter. "Beside, I'm manlier than you."

"I'll choose Reo too, then," another voice joined in.

Reo turned at the person beside her. The slightly taller boy was confident with his words, but looked so immature from every side. He was the cute, youngest member in the modelling agency, Kevin.

The MC looked genuiely interested. "Why?"

"He's good at games!" Kevin announced happily.

"You are?" The MC turned at Reo.

Reo nodded slowly, looking so innocent. "I beat his highscore," she said cooly, and earned a nice slap from Kevin.

The crowds started to scream uncomfortably again, and worst started when Henry also annonced the same. "Reo would be a prefect choice," he said.

And screams started to get crazy.

The variety show soon ended. Leon hit Henry's head pretty lightly remembering how cruel he could be.

"What the hell happen just now?" Leon glared.

Henry rolled his eyes and sighed. "Don't worry, she's yours anyway. Then again, if you two pick her, why couldn't I?"

"Whatever," Leon snorted. "Where's she?"

"I don't know," Henry looked away. "You're her husband, how come you don't know?"

"You two, stop fighting," Kevin appeared before Leon manage to hit Henry's head again. "Reo's outside. It's snowing."

As soon as lightning, Leon ran outside, not caring the sound of Henry grumbling and Kevin yelling at him something about the dorm.

She was indeed outside. All dressed in pale, inconspicuous colors, there she stood, practically blending in with the thousands of soft bits of snow gently falling from the sky. Her face was turned heavenward, eyes closed, a look of child-like bliss on her face.

"Reo!" He cried aloud.

The girl turned around and smiled, looking so heavenly with the existance of snow around her. "Leon."

"Gee, damn you Canadian and your resistance to the cold," Leon rubbed his hands together as he approached her.

"Damn you with picking me as your boyfriend," she replied with a smile.

"Well, damn you too for that," Leon smirked.

"You know, you're simply my husband. And I am, too, simply is your hubby," Reo said as she hopped around, trying to catch the falling snow.

Leon frowned. "I'm not a goddamned gay."

"Oh, but you love me," Reo stated happily.

"You're a girl, princess," Leon corrected her.

Reo smiled. "You never took that matter seriously when I'm still a boy. It won't be different whether I am a girl or a boy, since you love me from the start anyway."

"Yeah, yeah," Leon agreed as he pulled Reo to his warm embrace, "I love you even when you're a boy, yeah."

She giggled cutely and hugged him back, and she whispered. "I guess we did the right thing at the train."

Leon smiled. "Yeah."

Reo once was a boy. Simply, she never knew that she was a girl until she got an accident a year ago, and it simply didn't matter. Leon, the love of her life, love her whatever happen, from when she was a boy until when he found out the DNA result.

Leon was her team member, her boyfriend, her precious one from the modelling agency.

Being around Leon made her feel like a mother hen at times (mostly when the situation involved a prank). Yet even more so, being around Leon also gave her a peculiar feeling of familiarity and comfort.

She felt like she had known Leon all her life, though in the matter of fact, they just knew each other for a little more than 150 days. It was amazing how fast one could grow close to a person.

Remembering back, her first impression of Leon was clouded by feelings of jealously at Leon's height. All Reo could think was – not another one! She had already felt like a midget next to Henry, and here came Leon practically a head taller than her and her junior to boot!

Life wasn't fair at times.

Yet, funnily enough, it was Leon's height that helped to endear him to Reo permanently.

Still uncomfortable with the fame that being a member of band brought, Reo always made sure to be near someone she knew during events. With his height, Leon was the first person Reo saw whenever she walked into a room, and so gradually, Leon became the person she sat near, walked closed to, and stood next to. It was a perfect setting for a bond to gradually form and strengthen.

Lately however, Reo began realizing that Leon's height wasn't the only reason that her eyes strayed to the boy's form. Without knowledge of how it began, Reo realized that she unconsciously searched for Leon's form automatically whenever they were to be in the same room.

No matter if it was three people in the room or four hundred, until she saw Leon, something in her was not satisfied. The first time she realized this had been during the group's many appearances on the radio.

She had trudged into the broadcasting room right behind Kevin, casually talking to him about the latest phones that had just come out. Everyone was getting settled into the seats, and just as she was about to settle in next to Kevin, she felt unsettled. She began to look around in hopes of finding a reason for her uneasiness, but found nothing. She faintly heard Kevin asking her what was wrong, but that faded away as her eyes landed on Leon's form walking through the doorway.

Just like that, the feelings of discontent disappeared.

When had he become so attached?

The moment had unsettled her enough that something must have shown on her face as Kevin worriedly pulled her down into a chair and asked if she was okay. Before she could respond, the sound of rustling clothes and the squeak of a chair registered through her brain and then the sound of Leon's voice asking her if she was okay fell on her ears.

Turning to look at her special friend's face, Reo couldn't help but remember how warm she felt to see the clear concern etched into those beautiful eyes. She responded with the typical 'I'm fine' and received a nod and a quirk of lips in return.

And really, Reo thought, everything was fine after that because Leon was next to her and that was all that mattered.

Shaking her head in rueful embarrassment, Reo shook herself from her memories and returned her gaze to Leon's form.

Reo could only sigh in defeat.

There was no point in denying it now. She was in love with the king of pranks of E.Entertainment Agency and she couldn't get it in herself to mind.
