Imaginary Notes part 1

Imaginary Notes

The weirdest notes were never on paper in writing. People of importance say it in half-whisper and others listen to them with worried frowns, nervous expression.
“Vanz Mezuella is over,” they said. One leader decision, as simple as that. They need to make people more attracted to the new drama of Vanz and James.
It was not that hard to understand. Vanz and James are not really close, so it was the best to separate Vanz from Sebastian.
Sebastian was fine by himself.
“It’s not like its real,” one of the members said. “You understand.”
Sebastian didn’t.
“What does it mean?”
“Just little meaningless stuff—stop name dropping each other, do not stand next to each other when the members form a line. This will be better for both of you; you’ll get the chance to shine—separately.”
Little stuff. Meaningless thing.
“It’s nothing, really, just a new guideline,” they added.
It was not that they couldn’t take instruction. Sebastian smiled at Vanz. Vanz smiled back. Little, meaningless thing.
On the ride back from the school, Vanz ushered to the front seat while Sebastian sat on the very back of the car.
“How does it feel to be newly divorced, Sebastian?” Reo joked.
“Awesome,” Sebastian said. “I can’t wait to meet people that are younger than my ex.”
Vanz’s head appeared from the side of the seat, but she didn’t say anything, and Sebastian avoided her eyes. Sebastian took off his earphone while Vanz kept on her headphone all the way home.
It was weird.
Plain weird.

It was always weird.
“They call you mother,” Sebastian said, having to read a fans online discussion. “The mother of the band.”
“It’s weird. I can’t cook and I’m not even married yet,” Vanz replied, turning on her i-Pod.
“And they call me father,” he laughed hard, taking one of the earphone off of Vanz’s ear and wear it by himself.
“Does it mean that we’re married?”
“In their head, at least.”
“I’m a bit too young to be married,” Vanz said, pretending to be in deep thought.
“I’m a bit too sexy to be a dad,” Sebastian commented with a big grin on his face. “We should ask the leader a short days off for honeymoon.”
“Paris?”
“Hawaii.”
“Coconut drinks.”
“Surfing board.”
And they laughed as they always did, filming mini dramas, holding hands and almost kissing, dropping hints here and there because it was fun, and it drove the fans nuts.

Everything started exactly one and a half years ago.
“Excuse me.”
Vanz looked up. She took off her earphone. “Sorry?”
“Senior Vanz, right?”
“Ah, Sebastian. The flower boy.”
“Are you going home?” he asked.
Vanz blinked. “Yes.”
“Can I sit beside you?” he asked again, in a lighter tone.
“Oh, yes, have a sit,” Vanz smiled at him, sliding a little to the left to provide him more space to sit, which had not been really required since the train was almost empty.
Sebastian smiled rather nervously and took a sit. Vanz put on her earphone back, turning on the i-Pod.
Silence.
It was their first day of meeting informally—beside in the musical drama club—and it had not been a really good idea to sit with a boy like Sebastian. He was truly reckless, and everyone knows Vanz was easily annoyed.
The things they had shared were only meaningless glance and respectful smile, and never before, more.
“What are you listening to?”
Vanz turned to Sebastian. Again, Vanz took off her earphone. “Oh, this? ‘Just Say Goodbye’.”
“The song by JTL?” he asked, rather excited.
The girl grinned. “Yes. You know it?”
“Of course I know it! I love Korean Pop and I love that song! Can I hear it too? My earphone got busted.”
Vanz was a little flustered, but then she nodded, handing the right earphone carefully to him.
“Do you have that song.. Erm... ‘It’s so Fortunate’ by Lee Juk? I think it’s a good song,” Sebastian said, smiling at her as he put on the earphone.
“Really?” Vanz looked brighter, despite her white pale skin. “I think so too. You’re good at music, eh?”
Sebastian blushed and smiled nervously, shaking his head softly. “No, I just like music a lot.”
The song moved on, and a nice, melodious song played.
“Oh, this one is my favorite,” Vanz mumbled.
Sebastian looked at her, smiling cheerfully. “It’s Yesung’s solo song, right? What is it... Erm.. The title must be... Erm...”
“It’s ‘It Has To Be You’,” Vanz said.
“Whoa, you’re better than me, especially on memorizing its title,” Sebastian complimented her right away.
“Na-ah, I just like Super Junior a lot,” Vanz firmly replied.
Silence again.

“Let’s be friends, Senior Vanz...” he requested. “Can I call you Vanz?”
Vanz blinked. Once. Twice. Thrice. Never before she let anyone call her with such informalities, but something tell her otherwise toward this boy. “Yeah.”
“Then you can call me Sebas.”
Vanz didn't really bother getting to know Sebastian when they first met in the club. Any of them might be kicked out anyway, what's the use of befriending new people? She has her own circle of friends, hangs out with softer, better-behaved people.
But then again, if he already asked such kind of permission, what to lose of saying 'yes'?

A month later, they were assigned for the same group for some projects in school. Singing contest, host of the school’s events, poems competition, and even musical drama.
Sebastian was a music-maniac as he said. He loved Korean Pop, and it turned out that one month was enough to make them best friend. And it turned out that whether it was a girl or boy band, if the song was good, he would do anything needed to have it.
Moreover, it turned out that one month was enough to make them best friend. He hangs out with Vanz the most, which according to him was awesome and full of music. A life full of music with best friend was something Sebastian would never let go.
