Imaginary Notes part 10

I’m jealous of your lollipop, thought Sebastian before he flushed and averted his gaze. He knew better than this, he told himself, drawing in a long breath of cold winter air and letting it burn his lungs.
He knew better than this, but it didn’t stop the twist of desire when he forgot himself and let his eyes linger on Vanz’s mouth, wrapped around a lollipop. It didn’t stop the convulsive swallow and the lick of heat at the bottom of his stomach.
Sebastian closed his eyes and tipped his head back, face towards the blue-gray sky; cloudless, and cold. “Like family,” he murmured to himself, a mantra. Words that would save him, if he could only convince himself to believe.
He tugged his scarf up, rubbed the soft fabric of his mittens over his face, and tried to forget the scent of strawberry flavored lollipop curling at the edge of his awareness.
But he gave in at the end, anyway.
"Vanz, let's go check the Korean Pop sites and started singing to the new song, okay? Throw that lollipop away..."

She'd always been most comfortable with Sebastian. Perhaps it was because Sebastian had seen her at her worst, with a runny nose and red, swollen eyes and terrible, mussed up hair. Perhaps it was because it was Sebastian who insisted that she took her medicine and pills, force-fed her, bribed her, and threatened her.
In any case, Vanz was the most at ease around Sebastian, relied on him the most, liked him the most. She didn't let the members know about this so directly, of course; favoritism was not a thing to display publicly.
During one of the breaks of training, Sebastian pulled her aside and looked at her over worriedly. "Are you tired?"
"I'm always tired," Vanz said, looking at Sebastian curiously. "Why?"
"Just now," Sebastian gestured vaguely with his right hand, waving it around. "You put your head in my lap?"
Vanz laughed. "Can't I do that whenever I feel like it?"
Sebastian eyed her uncertainly, then smirked. "Sure, why not?"

Vanz sighed. She was never sure how it had happened, but who could really pinpoint why they became friends with someone, and why that friendship continued and blossomed into the most important relationship of their lives?
People rarely documented their life like that and the same natural progression had brought Vanz two years to where she was now, shrieking with inappropriate laughter as Sebastian chased her down the stairs of the park like the children they no longer were.
It had been too long. Vanz and Sebastian playing carefree like this. It was some kind of miracle that they could manage this friendship, and they both know that they should not do anything weird that could threaten it.
"Hey, Vanz?"
"Yeah?" She turned around, fixing the earphone on her left ear and adjusted it with the length of the cable to the other earphone on Sebastian's right ear.
"Don't you think that this song is a little bit harsh? Despite its slow melody, though."
Vanz smiled a little, looking at him. "Why?"
"7 years being in love, but then getting nothing but heartbreak. Isn't it just too much?" He sighed.
"Whoa, you're thinking that deep?" The girl giggled. "For me... If he truly loves the girl, he would just be happy for her, right? He would act as a grown up man."
Sebastian tilted his head a little. "What if it happens between us?"
Vanz was a little aback. "Well, you're a year younger than me, right? It seemed that we will have a tough time."
It reminded her, though.
They really went to a tough time.
She--at the least--suffer.

It rained.
Vanz was sighing, looking throughout the window as she started cursing and blaming with a clearly irritated face. It was winter, yet it still rained?!
She hates rain.
When it rained, she worried that the members of band or musical drama would catch ill and fussed at everyone to bring umbrellas and jackets and change their wet socks.
Reo would laugh at her attention, Lizzy would roll her eyes and Grimsby would grudgingly obey, but Sebastian was the one who always scolded her in return and held her umbrella for her; she never bother to bring one.
“Thanks,” Vanz said, smiling.
“Hey, I take good care of my senior, you know,” Sebastian replied with a grin, moving the umbrella with Vanz as they dashed from the car to the entrance of the school.
“I would’ve liked a little brother like you,” Vanz said.
Sebastian squeezed her arm lightly, grinning.

Vanz opened her twitter account, sighing a little. It has been a while since the last time she even opens the internet. If Sebastian didn’t tell her to visit K-Pop sites with him yesterday, she would not even remember to.
She remembered what happened yesterday, even though it was rather blurry. Their relationship amazingly goes better, and they played together once again.
It had been pretty long time since her first prank on him. Yesterday's prank must be nice.
“Did you just...” Sebastian asked in disbelief.
Vanz grinned at him a little sheepishly. “Erm, I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Her tone was innocent.
“Vanz. Did you just ask Charice for a tea via my Twitter?” Sebastian’s voice was still colored in disbelief and Vanz dissolved into giggles at his expression.
Sebastian crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. “Oh my god, you’re fuckin’ shameless. You've gotta be some kind of idiot,” he said. “Don’t you have your own friends to hit on?”
“But little Sebas,” Vanz whined, pouting, and Sebastian rolled his eyes again.
“You’re lucky I love you, Vanz.”
Now that she thought about it, did he really say that? And if he did, what does he mean?
